Kyle Petty and friends set to ride hogs through Port City

The 17th annual Charity ride by Kyle Petty is going to make a stop in Wilmington NC. Arriving at 7:00 pm across from the Hilton Downtown. Herschel Walker and Brad Dauhgrty and 170 other riders are making their way across from Lake Placid NY to Amelia Island Florida to raise money for Victory Junction and other charities. Victory Junction was founded by Petty to honor his late son Adam. New UNCW chancellor excited to take the helm

University of North Carolina at Wilmington inducted their new chancellor yesterday. Gary L Miller is taking the helm from chancellor Rosemary DePallo who has guided UNCW for the last 8 years. He has served as provost and vice president of academic affairs and research at Wichita State University since 2006. The UNCW board gave him a unanimous vote to appoint him chancellor from a variety of qualified applicants across the country.

Miller said “I wanted to come here because this is a world-class university,” Miller said. "What captured my imagination was that this is a university with a soul.”  He is interested in  becoming involved in the community which is great news to hear.  We would love to sell him some Wilmington NC real estate, but with the positon of Chancellor also comes with a beautiful  Historic Kenan House which  is the home of UNCW's chancellor.
